Baskin Robbins Day and KFC Take-Away

Entry: 52
31st January 2007

Dear Diary,

It's Baskin Robbins Day today!!! Yippie!! :) We went to Subang Parade's Baskin Robbins outlet because I wanted to alter my skirt at Subang's Carrefour. We were stunned by the amount of people (or aunties to be precise) crowding over the little ice-cream counter. My gosh, the service at this outlet sucked big time! It was bad enough reaching out to grab a number among all those people and it took so freaking long for them to call out our number to be served. Argh... all those uncivilised people spoilt both our moods. And some demanding aunty was making hell of a big fuss when she was told that the chocolate and peanut butter flavour was sold out. I heard her saying, "I dont care, my son only likes the peanut butter flavour. I wont take other flavours". Darling also heard her demanding to see the manage. What lar these Malaysians. "Ice-cream only la...", as how darling says it. Hahaha!!! Anyway, we got our ice-cream and fled for dear life. Brought it back home to eat in peace and tranquility. *Grins*

I love Baskin Robbins so much!

We bought back a quart (RM27.53 inclusive of tax) of 2 flavours. My favourite Chocolate Mousse Royal and Gold Medal Ribbon. We wanted to try Cookies and Cream too but then Subang Parade's outlet only limited their quarts to 2 flavours. Sunway Pyramid's outlet is much better in service and they let you have 3 flavours to a quart.

We also ta pau-ed back KFC for dinner. Darling suddenly craved for KFC. Haha... I had the Zinger Maxx set which consists of their new and certainly improved Zinger burger, cheesy wedges and a pepsi drink. Thumbs up to KFC for including drinks back into their sets.

My Zinger Maxx burger. It was really good. Check out the bun shape :)

Darling had the Snack Plate Combo. Prices are not included cuz I kinda forgot the prices already :p Sorry...

It consisted of 2 pieces of fried chicken, one buttered bun, coleslaw and mashed potatoes. I think Darling enjoyed his meal cuz he didnt complain at all. We ate all these including the whole quart of ice-cream while watching one of Stephen Chow's movies. Enjoyable :)

Dinner @ Asia Cafe & Dessert from Cake Sense

30th January 2007

Dear Diary,

We had dinner at Asia Cafe again. Haha, the both of us have seriously been frequenting this place alot for dinner as darling gets back from work after 10pm and it is either dining here, or the mamaks which are still opened.

This time I wanted to try the Pan Mee (RM4.50) from the Pan Mee stall. The serving size was just right for me. I ordered the one with fishballs and it came with sliced mushrooms and fish cakes as well. Yummy... I'll definitely order this again :)

Darling ordered Lemongrass Pork Chop with rice (RM6.90) from the Lemongrass (Vietnamese) stall. The rice portion was huge as darling ordered additional rice. The pork chop looked nice and evenly roasted this time. Looks very appetizing :) No complaints from darling.

After dinner, we had cakes for dessert from Cake Sense bakery nearby which I had bought back earlier.

On the left, we have Strawberry Yoghurt Mousse Slice (RM4.70) and on the right, we have Mango Yoghurt Mousse Slice (RM4.70). The cakes were very light and nicely presented but would taste nicer if it were sweeter :)

Starbucks @ SS 15 Subang Jaya

29th January 2007

Dear Diary,

Darling and I have stayed in SS15 Subang Jaya for a year and we've never tried out the Starbucks cafe here. Unbelievable! :p After our disappointing visit to some pasar malam somewhere nearby (disappointing cuz there was nothing there buyable to us :p), I told darling I wanted to have Starbuck's cheesecake. Haha... Yeah, I got my way :p Darling also wanted to try their Java Chip Frappucino.

Blueberry Cheesecake (RM8.80) and Java Chip Frappucino (RM14.40)

I've always heard that Starbucks serves great blueberry cheesecake but I havent tried it before. There was only one slice left when I wanted to try it this time. Hmm, is it just my bad luck or are last slices always the suckiest part of the cake?? The cake that I got was too dry and stiff. So much for choosing the last slice :p I'll bear in mind never to do that again. Luckily, the Java Chip frap was so nice and sweet enough to compensate the sucky cake. Darling and I had a nice time snapping shots of each other too. Haha... :)

Cafe 1920 @ 1 Utama

27th January 2007

Dear Diary,

I kinda 'forced' darling to bring me to One Utama today for my OSIM interview. It was really sweet of him to drive me up all the way here. Thank you darling. Appreciated it loads. After my interview, we were hungry and as usual, undecided on what to eat. Sigh, this time it really took us ages to decide, walking from the old wing to the new wing. Haha :p We finally settled for Italian food at 1920 cafe located at the old wing.

1920 Cafe

Darling and I shared an Iced Peach Tea at RM4.00. I didnt like the taste of this peach tea. Gave me a weird funny after-taste :p

Darling ordered their Cabonara priced at RM14.00. This cabonara is cooked in an egg based sauce and topped with beef bacon and parmesan cheese. It was not too bad as it came with a generous topping of beef bacon. However, I still prefer the cabonara and beef bacon in Italiannies. Love it there! :)

I wanted to eat pizza so I tried their chef's recommended Pizza Bianca (RM 15.50) which is a thin crusted pizza without tomato base but topped with cheese, cream, and a combination of beef bacon and turkey ham. I would only give this pizza a mediocre vote. Nothing really special about it. The taste was rather bland and there werent enough beef bacon on it to satisfy me. I think the pizza in Asia Cafe can beat this one here anytime. Hmph, a rather disappointing review here :( I want Italiannies!! Keke... :)

1st Year Anniversary Celebration @ Shogun @ 1 Utama

Entry: 48
24th January 2007

Dear Diary,

Today marks the special moment that darling and I got together one year ago. It wasn't exactly a smooth journey for us to make it till now. Being only humans, we all have our imperfectness, our selfishness and self-centered natures. For the both of us, well, we had our differences, our arguments, big fights, little fights, and not to mention loads of things to content and squabble about. However, we also did have our happy times being together as a couple. The love, bond and care we have for each other is something only known and shared between us but inexpressible in words. We love the times we spend together and we deeply cherish the companionship of one another. Through everything that happens, darling hopes that my faith in him will continue to remain strong. I know he loves me with all his heart and I want him to know that he means the world to me. I hope and pray that our love will continue to grow stronger each passing day and that there would be many more anniversaries to come for us to treasure fondly in our hearts.

To celebrate this day, we had our anniversary dinner at Shogun in 1 Utama. Darling had already planned to bring me here months ago knowing that I've always wanted to come here after being so freakingly nuts about japanese food. Keke... :p

All the yummy food we had. We had sushis, cheese baked oysters, mussels, grilled salmon, tempura and some other things which names I cant really recall :p Oh, and lots of green tea too. Haha!! I only managed to take a few pictures legally before one of the waiters told me that I'm actually not allowed to take photos there. Grrr.... I need photos for my blog la :( I had to secretly snap quick shots when the waiters were not around. That explains some of the blur pics. Darling helped me out too. Naughty us. Keke... :p

Cold cold Soba. I thought it was pretty okay but darling didn't like eating it cold. Hehehehe....

More of the yummy food we had. This time, we tried their teppanyaki, soups and desserts. Omg, the teppanyaki was perfectly delicious! Darling and I both loved the beef they cooked for us. That got our highest votes! We went for second helpings and came back to the table with huger portions. Haha... However, the ready-cooked food there wasnt as nice as their teppanyaki. Should you visit this place, I recommend that you start with their teppanyaki section. We also tried their desserts. Their cakes were too sweet and most of it too dry. But their ice-creams were okay. We ate till we couldnt walk. Poor darling, he was trying to finish the food that I took but didnt finish. Haha!! And I didnt help much but to hurry him all the time. I was only wanting to try more things there you know. Kekeke... but then we forgot to try their sashimis, rolls and waffles. Maybe next time.

This buffet is priced at RM42.00++ per pax for lunch (12.00pm to 3.30pm) and RM48.00++ for dinner (6.30pm to 10.30pm). Our bill came up to a total of RM110.40 including tax. We are satisfied with the service here and most of their food but definitely not impressed with their desserts and ready-cooked food.

Thank you darling for the wonderful dinner and Happy 1st Year Anniversary to both of us once again :) This blog is dedicated to me and my darling. Hehe :) Yong yuan ai ni lau gong zhai!

Vietnamese Food @ Asia Cafe

Entry: 47
23rd January 2007

Dear Diary,

It's dinner again at Asia Cafe in SS15 Subang Jaya. Haha, we've been eating quite frequently here nowadays. This time, we both had vietnamese food from the Lemongrass stall.

The 'Teh Hijau' (RM1.80) that I ordered. Keke... Darling didn't like the taste of this drink. Haha... :p

I had their Lemongrass Chicken Chop (RM5.90). The portion size was quite big for me. But I really enjoyed the fried chicken drumstick marinated with lemongrass sauce. It also came with coleslaw, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. Lovely... :)

Darling tried the new addtion to their menu, Vietnamese Beef Noodles (RM6.90). Well, all I can say is that darling had loads to complain about this. He didn't like the taste of the soup which came with lots of lemongrass bits. Haha... But yet due to his strict policy of not wasting food, he ate all the noodles up. Two thumbs up for my lou gong zhai. Muax! :)

Best Prawn Mee in Seremban

Entry: 46
21st January 2007

Dear Diary,

Two Sundays ago after church, I and my younger bros followed darling and his parents to a coffee shop nearby for lunch. I didn't eat anything, but this is what darling and his mum had...

Prawn Mee priced at RM3 for a small bowl and RM4 for a big bowl. Darling claims this to be the best prawn mee he has ever eaten in Seremban. I tried some. No doubt it was good. But not being an avid eater of prawn mee, i could hardly tell between a good bowl of prawn mee and one that sucks. Haha... But I trust darling's taste though... *grin* :)
