Swenson's Ice Cream @ Subang Parade

Entry: 96
6th June 2007

Dear Diary,

After dining at Pan Bakery, I kind of wanted dessert and darling brought me to Swenson's Cafe in Subang Parade. Joys!!! I've always wanted to come here ever since... well, always! Haha :p Luckily Swenson's closes at 11pm cuz it was around 10pm plus plus when we got there. Man, I love this place. The atmosphere, the interior... everything!!

Hearting this place so much already :)

Every Tuesday is EARTHQUAKE day!! Yeah, today is a Tuesday and that means getting 8 scoops of ice cream of my choice with 8 different toppings with a 50% discount. Could this get any better?? Double joys!!

Here is our regular Earthquake which is priced at RM32.00 on normal days but RM16.00 for today. They also have a large Earthquake priced at RM45.00. The regular one was more than enough for us. We ordered their Chocolate Chip, Butterscotch, Chocolate Peanut Buttercup, Cookies n' Cream, Macadamia Nut, Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Vanilla, and Pistachio Almond flavours. I think the best flavour was their Sticky Chewy Chocolate. Chocolatey and sticky all over. Nice :) The toppings were nice too. All chocolatey and creamy and nutty and gooey and caramelly... Haha. If there is such a word as caramelly :p I wanna come back here for more! Pretty gong gong please, with sugar on the top... :p

Cheers,

Pan Bakery @ Subang Jaya SS15

Entry: 95
6th June 2007

Dear Diary,

Darling and I decided to have dinner somewhere new in SS15 today. Erm, not that it is a new eatery but its just that we haven't been to this place before :p The name of this cafe is Pan Bakery and it is located on the fringe of SS15 near Secret Recipe. They serve Western, Chinese and Thai cuisines here and we notice that this cafe always seems to draw crowds at anytime of the day.

Darling tried their Chicken and Beef Tom Yum Soup (RM6.00) with plain white rice. I guess the tom yum here is the highlight of this eatery as I spotted many other people having tom yum noodles. The soup was delicious. Tasty and sour but not really spicy. It would be perfect if it was really firey spicey. Haha... but I dont think darling would be able to take it then :p Must start training him to eat chili padi already. Muahaha....

I, on the other hand, tried their Spaghetti Cabonara which was also priced at RM6.00 I think. Funny because I thought they didn't serve Italian cuisines. Haha... I ordered this because I was so addicted to cabonara but the pasta here disappointed me utterly. I'm left dumbstruck and speechless when I tasted this horrible horrible tasteless spaghetti. My gosh, it had cream alright, but then the salt was totally missing. Not even a pinch nor a hint of it. How dreadful was that??? It was like eating pasta and water. Sigh.... Darling had to help me finish it while I got to enjoy his tom yum... *grins* Thank you gong gong... Muax!! And I dont wannt talk about this terrible pasta anymore! :(

Cheers,

Bakerzin Delight

Entry: 94
2nd June 2007

Dear Diary,

Look what my brother's gf bought for him today. Yeapz, its one of those little Bakerzin delights in a box. How sweet of her.... :p

Sweet Pleasure which priced around 13 bucks if I'm not mistaken, is made out of layers of hazelnut praline dacquoise, Jivara milk chocolate ganache with fleur de sel, and topped with chocolate mousse. I took a bite and it tasted like Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Yummilicious... I want a box of Bakerzin too.... :( Lolz.... :p

Allegro Cafe @ SS15 Subang Jaya

Entry: 93
24th May 2007

Dear Diary,

It's darling and my 16th month anniversary and I'm embarrassed to be blogging about it so late when it has already been way past our 17th month anniversary :$:$ Anway, darling brought me to the Italian restaurant near our place in SS15 Subang Jaya called Allegro Cafe. This eatery is located opposite Kopitiam and is on the same row as Coffee Cabana. We've always passed by this place on our way to Salmon Steak but have never seen it having a full house which often puzzles us. As darling and I guessed, it might be due to the huge potted plants placed in the way of the entrance making it look more like a jungle than a cafe. Haha... Dunno why lah.

The Hot Chocolate (RM5.50) drink I ordered. This drink was rather tasteless and not as chocolatey compared to Secret Recipe's hot chocolate.

Darling's Iced Lemon Tea (RM5.00) which wasnt sweet. Frown...

We started off with a plate of Spaghetti Alla Cabonara (RM22.00) which is spaghetti tossed in cream with bits of ham and bacon. This cabonara was creamy enough but tasted rather bland. The chef probably needs to add a little more salt to bring out its flavour. Haha... I'm just guessing only. We still prefer the cabonara in Italiannies. Gosh I miss their pasta buffet so much. Wonder when will gong gong have the time to take me there again.

Our second choice was their Lagsana Di Manzo. Priced at RM20.00, this oven baked beef lagsana came topped with mozzarella cheese and sprinkled parsley. Quite nice and cheesielicious I must say but then again, it lacked flavour. Wonder why....

This Tropicale Pizza here won our star-of-the-day award!! Priced at RM25.00, this 12-inch pizza came topped with a generous amount of pan fried chicken breast cubes, pineapples, and loads of mozzarella cheese. Truly cheesie and absolutely delicious. Darling and I both practically drooled over the pan fried chicken breast cubes which was so tasty that we could only scream more except that we were stuffed full and 8 slices of pizza was more than what we could take.

Dessert time... I kind of regretted ordering dessert as I was very very full by the time we wiped the pizza pan clean. And I also regretted ordering their La Coppa Di Tiramisu which was priced at RM11.00 because it tasted like fermented yoghurt or perhaps I wasnt used to the liquor they used. Hmm... Should have ordered their Panna Cotta instead.

We'll definitely be back for their amazing Tropicale Pizza or to give their other pizza's a try. It sure is a life saver for saving our special evening from being ruined by disasterous tastelss food. Haha... :p

And as for you, my dear lou gong zhai, I love you from the bottom of my heart. Thanx for the lovely evening. Its another priceless memory to be treasured. XOXOXO!!!

I heart you,

Steven's Corner @ OUG

Entry: 92
19th May 2007

Dear Diary,

Here we are, mamaking once again at our favourite Steven's Corner. I've bloged about this place before so I'm not really gonna say much except that the food here is fantastically awesome!! Enjoy the pics :)

I heart this cheesey Cheese Naan very very very much!!

I also heart their Nasi Goreng Kambing very very very muchy much!! :p

And... not to forget hearting their Maggi Goreng which I've recently learnt to like thanx to darling's addiction. Haha... How can such simple food taste so good??

We had dessert at Sri Petaling's Secret Recipe in which we tried out a piece of their White Chocolate Macademia Cake. It's a very light sponge cake filled with layers of cream and topped with a layer of rubbery sweet white chocolate coating. Hmm... tastes good upon the first bite but after that... ugh, jelak :p

Cheers,

Sri Murni @ SS2

Entry: 91
17th May 2007

Dear Diary,

Darling brought me for Spiderman 3 today at 1 Utama's GSC. We got to watch it in GSC's 2nd hall which was huge!! Hehe... I totally love watching movies there. The seats were awesome :p Anyway, it was a pretty long movie and I had butt cramps after the show. And I was hungry too... Hehe. Darling gave in to my request to go to Sri Murni in SS2. I've been wanting to try the food in this place for a long time. It was packed by the time we got there around 9pm plus. It was hard enough getting a parking and it was harder locating an empty table. We waited awhile before getting one.

We ordered their famous Roti Hawaii (RM5.00) which is actually roti canai packed with goodies like minced burger patties, sausages and topped with mayonnaise. Pretty creative of them! This is something we have not tried before and it turned out to be quite nice.

I've also heard that they were famous for their Claypot Lou Shi Fun (RM4.00) so we ordered a pot to try. It came topped with raw egg which is supposed to be cooked by the heat of the noodles when you stir it in. The noodles was nice but it lacked something which brings out the flavour of it. Hmm, dried salted fish perhaps? Cuz the good ones I've had always came with salted fish.

We also had Nasi Goreng Bacon (RM 6.00) which was a little too oily for our liking. Would have been nicer if they had put in more bacon and sausages and a little less onions. Lol :p

For drinks, we ordered their Mango Special (RM6.00) which was refreshingly good. It came with longans, fruit cubes and pieces of watermelon in it.

After trying the food here, we still find Steven's Corner unbeatable even though the crowd here may be surprisingly huge. But nevertheless, its still worth trying :p

Cheers,

Chili's @ 1 Utama

Entry: 90
9th May 2007

Dear Diary,

Gosh, it has been freaking long since my last makan post. After a whole month of exam torture and stress, all I can think about is just lying idle and doing nothing at all. Haha... I know its lame and a waste of precious holidays which dont come by often anymore. But arghs, I'm just so beaten down!! I didn't however stop taking pictures of food though and looks like I've got tonnes of them to upload and update here.

Darling and I had dinner one of the nights at Chili's in 1 Utama after shopping there. It was a very sudden, unexpected decision and it took us awhile before deciding what we wanted to eat there.

Darling had their N.Y. Strip. Priced at RM39.95, this 10 ounce strip steak seasoned with herbs and garlic comes served with fresh veggies, loaded creamy mashed potatoes and garlic toast. Darling ordered his steak to be medium well and it turned out good although darling said that he prefered Tony Roma's steak more than this. I loved the mashed potatoes.

I wanted to try their burgers and opt for their BBQ Ranch which is priced at RM17.95. This huge burger consisted of an enormous patty, beef bacon, aged cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, Ranch dressing, shredded lettuce, tomato and pickles. It also came with a large amount of fries. Absolutely good but quite challenging to eat. I couldnt put the whole thing into my mouth obviously!!

Anyhow, dinner was good and we enjoyed it. Not to mention our tummies being overloaded to the max! *Giggles*

BBQ Plaza (Revisited) @ Sunway Pyramid

Entry: 89
8th May 2007

Dear Diary,

Yes!! Here we are back again at Sunway Pyramid's good old BBQ Plaza. Actually it's not that old :p Its just that we frequent this outlet a lot. And I mean really a lot! :p And I suddenly have the urge to blog about it again :) It sizzles, its yummy, its delicious, and most important of all, it makes me smile. Thats why darling chose to bring me here after "he-knows-what". *Giggles*

And the little green dragon on menu roars too, but only in the advertisement on tv :p

The familiar hotplate to cook our food.

Their famous and special BBQ Sauce. Believe me, this vegetarian-based sauce imported all the way from Bangkok is really something you definitely have to try. I fell in love with it ever since the first time I tried it. And I must admit being able to eat up to 4 little bowls of it *shy* Hehe... Anyway, this sauce is eaten together with the meat you cook to bring out the finest flavours in each morsels of meat and seafood. To add a twist to the sauce, you would have to mix it together with the fresh cut chilies, garlic and squeezed lime provided. And walla!! You have a masterpiece :)

This is the stuff that makes ur hotplate sizzle.

See, I told you so :p

Everything you cook has to be enjoyed with this bowl of fluffy steamed rice which comes together with the supreme set we ordered. You can also opt to upgrade your rice to garlic rice for an additional RM1.50.

We ordered the Supreme Mixed Set for Two (RM30). This mixed set includes both pork and beef, bacon, chicken meat, prawns, squids, loads of vege, and udon noodles.

Ooh, this side dish is my favourite. Cant miss ordering their Bacon to cook when you're here. I totally busted thoughts of my diet and fats when I see this pretty plate flashing before my eyes.

Darling did all the cooking that day, and I think I did most of the eating other than merely putting the vege into the boiling water at the side of our hotplate *shy*

Here it is, the star-of-the-day. My yummy bacon patiently sizzling on the hotplate while I'm impatiently steaming on my chair :p

Thank you darling for the BBQ treat. You cheered me up a lot! I heart you!!

Cheers,

Dinner @ Asia Cafe

Entry: 88
5th May 2007

Dear Diary,

Darling and I had dinner one of the nights in Asia Cafe SS15 Subang Jaya. Although being only a stone's throw away from the place we stay, we're starting to frequent this place less. Haha, I guess there are just many other options besides coming back to the same place over and over again. Darling had to rush off to work again that night, so we opt for something quick.

I ordered a plate of Dry Pan Mee which costs RM4.00 from the Pan Mee stall. Well, I wouldnt say the pan mee here is that fantastic, but then it tastes much better than the pan mee in coll. And more expensive too. The one in college only costs RM2.80 per bowl. No kidding. Lol!! :p

Darling wanted to try the Nyonya Mee Goreng which he saw many people eating. He meant to order a large plate but then the server brought him a small one. And its a good thing too cuz this mee goreng tasted weird and turned darling's face upside down. Its probably because we hardly eat nyonya food and well, this mee goreng came mixed with all sorts of things that we didnt know could be added into the noodles. Lets just say this is not the typical mee goreng one can get at any ordinary mamak stall :p

Secret Recipe @ Sunway Pyramid

Entry: 87
2nd May 2007

Dear Diary,

Darling had his off day today and we were at wits ends on deciding where to eat. Usually when we're both in doubt, we'll normally fall back to eating at places we either frequent or are more familiar with. Rarely would we venture out to try new eateries. This fall back brought us back to Secret Recipe at Sunway Pyramid.

As it was a public holiday today, this outlet was jammed packed with people. Actually, the whole Pyramid was bursting with people especially the ice-skating ring. I wonder how do these people have fun skating when all they do is just crash into one another. Scary...

Ok, back to Secret Recipe. We were promtly served with menus upon sitting despite having many other customers. And gosh, did we take a long time deciding on what to have. Haha...

It is always a tough choice deciding what cake to eat when u're in Secret Recipe. Everything here looks so good and tempting. I finally decided on having their Raspberry Cheesecake (RM5.50). This cake was as good as the last time I tried it. I prefer this to their Blueberry Cheesecake because the swirls of raspberry filling is just nice and not too overpowering. It comes with a nice chocolatey base too :)

Darling ordered their Frosty Lime Juice which is priced at RM7.00. This drink definitely screams sour and acts stronger than a coffee espresso at shaking u awake. I had a hard time drinking this.

We got a free Pepsi on the house. This only happens in our special case as they had mixed up darling's order and sort of compensated the mix up with this drink. Note, Secret Recipe does not offer complimentary drinks. So, dont go in demanding to be served a glass of carbonated drink. Lol :p

For darling's main course, he ordered their Prawn Macaroni with Cheese which is priced at RM15.50. This entree consisted of macaroni pasta with prawns and mushrooms topped with loads of mozzarella cheese which is grilled till melted. Truly cheesy!! A simply must try for all cheese lovers.

I had their Noodle in Tom Yam Soup. Priced at RM12.50, their famous Thai hot and spicy soup comes with shredded chicken, mushrooms, lemon grass, lime leaves and hot hot chillies. Darling's face went red from the spiciness after eating this. How cute... Haha!!

I simply love this place for serving a great variety of fusion foods.

Cheers,

I'm Loving It @ McDonalds

Entry: 86
25th April 2007

Dear Diary,

I know I havent been updating my blog religiously. It is already mid May and here I am blogging about my reviews in April. Yeah, I do tend to slacken a little here and there... But not to worry, my picture taking still lives. Lol :p

Darling and I decided to have breakfast at McD's early one morning. Its been decades since the last time I had McD's breakfast set. Well, we didnt have to wake up early as we had been up the whole night long. Darling was working his night shift and I was erm, gosh... I have no idea on what I was up to. Sigh, short term memories are a pain :p Anyway, I told darling I was missing McD's Sausage McMuffin and he immediately texted me back suggesting that we go get it for breakfast right after his work. Haha.. He's such a darling :) Whee....

We ordered two Sausage McMuffin Sets which consisted of one hash brown each, one sausage mcmuffin with egg, and a cup of coffee/tea in which we opt for tea. I forgot how much it costed per set but I think it's around RM6.00++

Golden Hash Brown. Fried to perfection. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside :)

Our yummilicious Sausage McMuffin with Egg. I love the sausage patty inside and soft toasted english muffins. They also added a slice of salty cheese and an egg. Perfecto!

Tea for two.... And its BOH tea.

Oh, this was a picture of our McD Dinner some other night while their 25th Anniversary promotion was still on. Apparently, they had something free eveyday for the whole month of April when you purchase one of their required set meals. We came here for dinner on a Monday and they were giving away a free McChicken Sandwich with every purchase of a large McChicken Sandwich McValue Meal. Haha, what the both of us gluttons did was to get a large set each and ended up having four burgers to munch on, in which we only managed to finish 2 and kept the rest for supper. Ooh, I got to eat the banana pie I was craving for. Haha... Love it!!

Cheers,

Tony Roma's @ Sunway Pyramid

Entry: 85
24th April 2007

Dear Diary,

It is already the 15th month since darling and I got together now. Wow, time really does fly by when u're have fun. Tee hee :p Psst... I'll let you in on a little secret. This is the longest relationship I've ever been in. Lol!! Now it is no longer a secret. Hahahaha... Anyway, to celebrate our 15th month anniversary today, darling brought me to Tony Roma's in Sunway Pyramid for dinner.

I have heard and read so much about Tony Roma's. My knowledge of this place ranges from its origins to its huge servings in steaks and ribs. Yummilicious!! Tony Roma's which originated from the States, had just opened its first outlet here in Sunway Pyramid not too long ago last year. I've read many comments from other foodies mentioning their disappointment in the outlet here being Halal. It seems that Tony Roma's is well known for their baby back ribs which is sadly unavailable in Malaysia. Oh well, never mind that. Both darling and I found the service here to be excellently good. Waiters were prompt in serving and taking your orders as well as being attentive to your needs. The waitress that served us for the evening was especially helpful in explaining everything to us in detail. I would have given her an A++ if it wasnt for one major flaw which was her heavy accent whereby darling and I could hardly understand whatever she told us. Hmm... I was like 'Huh?'. Lol :p

For drinks, darling chosed to go for their bottomless Coke which was priced at RM6.90.

I decided to have a Chocolate Milkshake which was priced at RM9.90. Very sweet, thick, creamy and nice :)

Complimentary Bread on the house with garlic spread.

These were the BBQ sauces in which we had a hard time understanding what the waitress was explaining to us. Haha!! Apparently, they had 4 types of BBQ Sauces ranging from original BBQ sauce, smoked BBQ sauce, honey BBQ sauce and hot BBQ sauce. Darling and I both agreed that the best were the hot and smoked BBQ sauce. The other 2 were simply unbearable.

For his main course, darling chose to have their Signature NY Strip. Priced at RM49.90, this 10 oz strip is grilled to your liking (medium or well-done) and topped with their special steak butter. Mmmm... its already delicious even in my imagination. This entree also includes two side dishes in which darling chose to have their fries and mashed potatoes. Darling ordered his steak to be medium done. It turned out very nice and juicy with a hint of pinkness in the centre. Darling's fries were absolutely large and good but the mashed potatoes were a disappointment to us as it was tasteless and lacked cream. Aside from that, I would give this steak thumbs up for its perfection. Darling enjoyed this steak very much too :)

I ordered their Grilled Chicken Spinach Stack for my main course. Priced at RM29.90, this entree consisted of two stacked, grilled chicken breasts straight from the open grill covered with a rich blend of four cheeses, artichoke hearts and creamy spinach. It also came served with rice and sauteed vege which I switched to mash potatoes thinking that it was good. A very bad choice made there I suppose. Hmph... But my chicken was quite good and blended well with the cheese. I've never expected cheese and spinach to be such a good combination together. Lol :p

Yes, we never fail to have dessert. Despite finishing such huge portions of our main meals (well, I cheated, darling helped me out here.. hehe :p), we ordered their signature Chocolate Avalanche (RM12.90) as I was curious to know what chocolate molten cake tasted like. This dessert consisted of a molten chocolate cake overflowing with vanilla ice-cream, hot fudge and Oreo crumbles. It is described in the menu to be a true dessert explosion. It definitely was a sinfully rich explosion and I enjoyed every bite of it. Now I know what molten cake tastes like :) Darling said that the molten cake in Chili's is way better. Gotta try that out one day.

Oh, I forgot to mention that our dessert was served in a martini glass. Sweet... *grin*

We got complimentary Mentos sweets and warm towels at the end of our meal. Im starting to love this place already. Good food, nice service, romantic atmosphere, what more could we ask for? Erm, the bill perhaps?? Haha... Thank you darling for such a wonderful evening. You know it will be treasured in my heart, locked and sealed forever. I love you gong... Muax muax...

Cheers,
~* joychariz *~
