Tony Roma's @ Sunway Pyramid

Dear Diary,

It is already the 15th month since darling and I got together now. Wow, time really does fly by when u're have fun. Tee hee :p Psst... I'll let you in on a little secret. This is the longest relationship I've ever been in. Lol!! Now it is no longer a secret. Hahahaha... Anyway, to celebrate our 15th month anniversary today, darling brought me to Tony Roma's in Sunway Pyramid for dinner.



I have heard and read so much about Tony Roma's. My knowledge of this place ranges from its origins to its huge servings in steaks and ribs. Yummilicious!! Tony Roma's which originated from the States, had just opened its first outlet here in Sunway Pyramid not too long ago last year. I've read many comments from other foodies mentioning their disappointment in the outlet here being Halal. It seems that Tony Roma's is well known for their baby back ribs which is sadly unavailable in Malaysia. Oh well, never mind that. Both darling and I found the service here to be excellently good. Waiters were prompt in serving and taking your orders as well as being attentive to your needs. The waitress that served us for the evening was especially helpful in explaining everything to us in detail. I would have given her an A++ if it wasnt for one major flaw which was her heavy accent whereby darling and I could hardly understand whatever she told us. Hmm... I was like 'Huh?'. Lol :p

For drinks, darling chosed to go for their bottomless Coke which was priced at RM6.90.


I decided to have a Chocolate Milkshake which was priced at RM9.90. Very sweet, thick, creamy and nice :)

These were the BBQ sauces in which we had a hard time understanding what the waitress was explaining to us. Haha!! Apparently, they had 4 types of BBQ Sauces ranging from original BBQ sauce, smoked BBQ sauce, honey BBQ sauce and hot BBQ sauce. Darling and I both agreed that the best were the hot and smoked BBQ sauce. The other 2 were simply unbearable.

For his main course, darling chose to have their Signature NY Strip. Priced at RM49.90, this 10 oz strip is grilled to your liking (medium or well-done) and topped with their special steak butter. Mmmm... its already delicious even in my imagination. This entree also includes two side dishes in which darling chose to have their fries and mashed potatoes. Darling ordered his steak to be medium done. It turned out very nice and juicy with a hint of pinkness in the centre. Darling's fries were absolutely large and good but the mashed potatoes were a disappointment to us as it was tasteless and lacked cream. Aside from that, I would give this steak thumbs up for its perfection. Darling enjoyed this steak very much too :)

I ordered their Grilled Chicken Spinach Stack for my main course. Priced at RM29.90, this entree consisted of two stacked, grilled chicken breasts straight from the open grill covered with a rich blend of four cheeses, artichoke hearts and creamy spinach. It also came served with rice and sauteed vege which I switched to mash potatoes thinking that it was good. A very bad choice made there I suppose. Hmph... But my chicken was quite good and blended well with the cheese. I've never expected cheese and spinach to be such a good combination together. Lol :p

Yes, we never fail to have dessert. Despite finishing such huge portions of our main meals (well, I cheated, darling helped me out here.. hehe :p), we ordered their signature Chocolate Avalanche (RM12.90) as I was curious to know what chocolate molten cake tasted like. This dessert consisted of a molten chocolate cake overflowing with vanilla ice-cream, hot fudge and Oreo crumbles. It is described in the menu to be a true dessert explosion. It definitely was a sinfully rich explosion and I enjoyed every bite of it. Now I know what molten cake tastes like :) Darling said that the molten cake in Chili's is way better. Gotta try that out one day.

Oh, I forgot to mention that our dessert was served in a martini glass. Sweet... *grin*

We got complimentary Mentos sweets and warm towels at the end of our meal. Im starting to love this place already. Good food, nice service, romantic atmosphere, what more could we ask for? Erm, the bill perhaps?? Haha... Thank you darling for such a wonderful evening. You know it will be treasured in my heart, locked and sealed forever. I love you gong... Muax muax...

Daddy's Birthday Celebration

It was Dad's birthday last Tuesday. We went back to Seremban to give him a little birthday surprise celebration.

We got this specially for him :)

Secret Recipe @ SS15 Subang Jaya

Dear Diary,

After such a huge lunch in Asia Cafe, darling and I were still stuffed full right up to dinner time. Hence, we decided to go to Secret Recipe in SS15 Subang Jaya for cakes! Yummy... I love Secret Recipe's cakes :) You can see me beaming and smiling all the way there :)

Fine Quality Cakes

I ordered a Baked Cheesecake for myself. I've always loved the baked cheesecake here. Simple and nice. However this cake's base tasted odd and crumbly today in which I have no idea why.


Darling had our all-time-favourite Brownies with Ice-cream. Need I describe it again after countless of posts reviewing this sinfully rich chocolatey delight with vanilla topping? *grins* I'm evil, I know..... :p

Lunch @ Asia Cafe

Dear Diary,

I kinda demanded darling to accompany me for lunch today during my class break. Lol. And darling was in no position to decline so he rushed back from Jalan Gasing where he went to settle his KWSP stuff. Since I had to go back for classes later, we decided to have lunch in Asia Cafe.


I was craving so many things that day. Here is the Sarawak Kolo Mee that I've been wanting to try for a long long time. Priced at RM4.00 per plate, this mee comes with minced meat, sliced fish cakes, sliced char siew meat, vege, and a piece of fried wonton. It kind of resembled hakka mee and gosh, do I miss that a lot!! Wonder when will darling bring me to eat that in Alison again??? Hmm... anyway, the kolo mee here was not good at all. It was practically too dry and tasteless for my liking. Even the fried wonton was just a piece of unstuffed wonton skin. Argh, I dont like that. It tasted to empty :( Not gonna order this anymore. Its just not worth my 4 bucks.


I also bought this Nyonya Nasi Lemak (RM1.50) from the little stall in Asia Cafe selling an assortment of nyonya kuihs and cakes. Small as it is, this nasi lemak is definitely a winner among all the foods there. The sambal was totally awesome and spicy. Just the way I like it. Oh, I had their Curry Puff (RM1.00) too which was fantastic and quite similar to the ones they have in IKEA. I simply love Ikea's curry puffs. Wonder if Old Chang Kee's one in 1 Utama tastes nicer.

Darling tried this Ramyean (RM5.00) or also known as Korean Noodles from the Korean stall. We suspect that this noodles came from one of those packeted ones you can get in the supermarket for only RM2.99. Haha... Well, it tasted very similar. The only additional stuff u get here is the kim-chi which none of us liked :p

Finally.... Our dessert for today. We had Asia Cafe's ABC (RM3.80). This was the second time we'r having it and we found that it wasnt as nice as the first time as it was a little diluted. Anyway, it was still good and refreshing on such a hot day. Both darling and I agreed that their shaved peach ice tastes much much better and sweeter than their ABC. Cant wait to have that again. Its so yummy :)

Sushi King's Privilege Bonanza @ Sunway Pyramid

Dear Diary,

As soon as we got off Genting Highlands, darling agreed to bring me for Sushi King's latest promotion which is their RM2 Privilege Bonanza!! I was the happiest girl on earth.


This promotion started on the 9th of April and lasts 4 days up till 12th of April. During this period, all sushi on the kaiten belt would only be charged RM2 per plate for Sushi King card members. Wowieee.... So little time and so much sushi!! There was such a long queue of people when we got to the outlet in Sunway Pyramid. Apparantly I wasnt the only one who knew about this promotion :p It was a full house. We waited for sometime to be seated because I wanted to seat near the kaiten belt.

Complimentary Green Tea on the house. Served nice and promtly :)

This was the first plate darling grabbed for me. Golden Balls. This consisted of deep fried egg & crabstick mayonnaise. We didnt notice that only the solid colour plates were priced at RM2 for card members. This plate costed RM4. Never mind. Worth trying! Nice and crunchy!! The rest of the sushi we had only costed RM2 per plate. Enjoy the pics!!

Genting Trip - Day 2

Dear Diary,

On day two, we woke up late and missed the breakfast buffet in First World cafe. Well, there was actually nothing much to be missed because we never found their breakfast buffet to be very fantastic or whatsoever. Since it was already time for lunch, and also time for us the fill our rumbling tummies, darling and I decided to have lunch at Hou Mei which was also on our list apart from Hainan Kitchen last night.

Hou Mei is also located in First World Plaza on Level 2.

Everytime I walk pass Hou Mei, I would never fail to notice how crowded and packed it was especially during lunch and dinner hours. I've always wondered as to how good the food is here that it draws such huge crowds. Well, I finally got to review this place for myself *winks*.

Service here was good and promt. We didnt have to wait long before we were seated down. Darling ordered a Lemonade (RM4.00) in which we shared. My gosh, the lemonade here was truly sour to the brim! I was wide awake after taking a sip of this. It kinda gave me a wake up call punch. Nice and refreshing. Works better than coffee for me. Lol.

After having read that the good stuff in this place is their Kai See Hor Fun (RM10.87), I adamantly wanted to try this and only this. By the way, what is with the 87 cents to the price?? Well, the hor fun was nice, but definitely not the soup! OMG, I couldnt freaking take the smell of the soup. To be franked, it smelt like the inside of a chicken coop! I didnt know what it was, but I couldnt finish this and was forced to abort mission. I exchanged my noodles with darling who so graciously surrendered his delicious beef noodles to me. His beef noodles tasted so good that I started feeling bad over the fact that I made darling eat my order. Sorry gong... But u did a good job finishing something that could be on Fear Factor's eatery list!! *grin* Darling termed my noodles as "Okay la...". Hehehe.

Here is what darling initially ordered before I extorted it from him. Beef Noodles. I forgot the price for this but I think it is also somewhere above RM10. It smelt so delicious. But they served wan tan mee noodles in this which was totally weird to me. Seremban's beef noodles are still the best and unbeatable ones. Anyway, the beef noodles here came with generous amounts of beef cubes. The beef cubes were well marinated and deliciously tasty!! The soup was rather good too. Darn, I still feel bad trading my horrible Kai See Hor Fun for darling's superb beef noodles :( But thumbs up for this :)

I loved the beef cubes so much that I immediately gave it the star-of-the-day award.

After lunch, we walked around First World's indoor theme park for awhile before deciding to go into Ripley's Believe It or Not. We spent about an hour there I guess. It was my first time there and darling's dunno-how-many number of times there :p After Ripley's, I wanted to go to Coffee Bean for scones. But I changed my mind after seeing how sad the scones there looked and opt for a slice of their delicious cakes :)

After taking a long and hard time deciding, we agreed on having their Chicago Cheesecake which was priced around RM9.00++. I loved its smooth and moist texture. It also had a hint of lemony taste which was nice. Cracked as it might be, it was still cheeseliciously good!

We left the city of entertainment after having our cake at around 5 plus in the evening and headed back to the city where everyday routine exists. I had a wonderfully happy time up here with darling. Im sure he enjoyed himself too. Muax... Wo ai ni gong gong... :)

Genting Trip - Day 1

Dear Diary,

Darling brought me up to Genting Highlands for a little vacation. An escape from the real city to the city of entertainment :p For our dinner that night, we decided to dine at Hainan Kitchen as darling wanted to have their Lamb Shank which he told me was very good.

Hainan Kitchen is located at First World Plaza, on Level 2. You wont fail to notice it if you happen to be heading towards the casinos.

I ordered a Chocolate Milkshake (RM7.20) for myself while darling had a Coke (RM5.00).

Darling was so disappointed when he was told that the Lamb Shank was sold out for the day. And to think we chose to eat here again was because of that :( Never mind dear, we'll try it another time :) Anyway, darling then opt for their Pork Escalope "Mandarin" (RM15.00) which he said was rather good too. Well, I dont know what escalope means or which part of the pig it came from, but this pork escalope came engulfed in a very sour BBQ sauce with fries and sauteed vege served along. The meat was nice, but darling and I found the sauce a tad too sour for our liking. Darling said that it didnt use to be like this before. Hmm... did they accidentally spilled vinegar in? :p


This place is actually famous for its Hainanese Chicken Rice (RM10.50). I had this for my dinner. You have a choice between steam or roast chicken in which I opt for roast chicken since I had already tried the steam chicken version. It was served along with flavoured fragrant rice, soup, chilli and ginger sauce. Apart from the miserable portion of roast chicken they gave me, it was quite nice and very well presented :)

We had already decided to have our handpacked Baskin Robbins ice-cream up here since we missed last month's 31st promotion in which I was awfully disappointed. Well, darling more than made it up to me *grin*. We had a quart but it was too bad they didnt serve our favourite Chocolate Mousse Royal flavour. We had to replace it with their Chocolate flavour and also chosed Gold Medal Ribbon and Strawberry Cheesecake as our two other flavours. Goody!!!

Yeah, we were dipping and dripping alritey... :p

Irresistible ice-cream.... :) Strawberry cheesecake was kind of like my first-love flavour when I was first introduced to Baskin Robbins. The same goes for Haagen Dazs except that Baskin Robbins doesnt melt so quickly. The both of us devoured the whole quart and were too full to move after that, that we fell asleep. Hahahahaha!!!! Too high on ice-cream to stay awake :p

Well, we managed to get up without a Baskin Robbins hangover, and were surprised to find that we had only been knocked-out for half and hour or so :p We then went to Starbucks in First World Plaza for a drink and ordered their Signature Hot Chocolate. It's simply lovely to slurp something so wonderfully hot and deliciously chocolatey in the cold climate of Genting.
