Baskin Robbins Ice Cream @ First World Hotel Genting

Entry: 38
2nd January 2007

Dear Diary,

Our families took a trip to Genting together on the 27th of December. It was lots of fun and we had a good time in the Theme Park and also walking around. Wish it could have been longer :p

Darling's dad treated us all to Baskin Robbins Ice-cream on our first day there. Look at all the ice-creams. We're in heaven... :)

I couldn't resist taking a picture of their glass case full of Baskin Robbins Ice-cream cakes. Simply lovely :)

The Manhattan Fish Market @ Sunway Pyramid

Entry: 37
2nd January 2007

Dear Diary,
I went to Sunway Pyramid 2 weeks ago in serch of the Nike Cortez Deluxe I had been wanting to buy for so long. They had the cortez alright, but only kids size. Sigh... Do bad things really happen to bad people? Am I that bad?
Anyway, darling and I decided to have lunch in Manhattan Fish Market that day. I wanted to try out their lunch set which darling told me was quite good. The lunch set here included a main course which is selectable, one soup-of-the-day and a bottomless beverages.

Fishy Fish :)

Bottomless drinks included into the lunch set. I had Iced Peach Tea and darling had Iced Lemon Tea. Very nice and refreshing!

Soup-of-the-day

For our main course, darling ordered Grilled Pacific Dory with NZ Mussels (RM22.90). It came served with a huge grilled dory fillet and sauteed mussels topped with garlic butter sauce. Yummy. Those mussels were huge! Way bigger than the ones we had at Italiannes. Too bad there were only 2 of it. Oh, this set also came with an option of either garlic rice or chips. Darling went with the garlic rice.

I had the Baked Pacific Dory & Coleslaw (RM19.90). This order includes a delicious baked dory fillet in special butter plum sauce served with coleslaw and garlic rice. The butter plum sauce was totally awesome. Very rich and buttery. Just the way I like it :) Extremely satisfied!

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf @ One Utama

Dear Diary,

After our super late lunch at Italiannies, darling and I went to do our Christmas shopping in 1 Utama itself. Finding the perfect gift for everyone is not an easy job. Man, gift buying really requires some hard thinking at times :p

Before leaving 1u, we stopped by Coffee Bean as I wanted to try out their Chocolate Fudge Cake. Priced at RM8.80 per slice, I thought that this cake would be nice since there were only 2 slices left at the counter. But after taking a bite of it, I decided that the cake was a little too dry and tasted some what just like a normal chocolate cake. Was quite disappointed as I expected something chocolatey rich and fudgy :p

Our not so fudgy cake :p

Italiannies @ One Utama

Dear Diary,

Wednesday is Pasta Day at Italiannies with their 'Never ending bowls of pasta' buffet. Darling brought me here two Wednesdays ago. We wanted to see how much pasta we could eat before giving up :p At the price of RM 19.90++, you can have as many servings of different pastas (Spagetthi, Penne, Linguine, Angel Hair & Fettuccine) with different kind of sauces (Pomodoro, Arrabiato, Carbonara, Spicy Marinara & Aglio Olio) and toppings (Shrimp, Fried Calamari, Diced Salmon, Broccoli, Beef Bacon, Clams, Chicken & Mussels). Best of all, you get to combine ur choice of pasta, sauce and topping as u wish. Awesome!! I couldnt wait to get started...

'Never Ending Bowls of Pasta' every Wednesday only @ Italiannies

We started off with their complimentary bread which is dipped into olive oil and balsmic vinegar.

My first choice of pasta was Fettucine in Cabonara sauce and Beef Bacon topping. This pasta was the star of the day. I totally loved the creamy cabonara sauce and beef bacon in which was served in a very generous portion. It's a combination made in heaven!

Darling's first choice was Spaghetti in Cabonara sauce and Salmon topping. I think darling enjoyed this very much being the ultimate salmon fan. Haha!! I tried some of his salmon. Pretty good. Darling said the cabonara sauce camouflages the fishy taste of the salmon very well. Cool...

My second choice was Linguine in Spicy Marinara sauce and Fried Calamari topping. My, I loved the crunchiness of the fried calamari. Amazingly good. The Marinara sauce was a little too sour for me though. I only managed to finish half this serving as I was already quite full after my first plate of pasta.

Darling's second choice was Penne in Arrabiato sauce and Mussels topping. Darling commented that this was good. The mussels looked BIG! I tried one. Absolutely nice and juicy. Yummy :)

I have to salute darling as he ordered his thrid plate of pasta. My, this guy can really eat. At times, I cant help but wonder what is he made of. Haha... His high metabolism rate amazes me. Anyway, darling chose Fettucine in Aglio Olio sauce and Shrimp topping. Those shrimps that came along were huge. Darling didnt have much to say about this pasta. I guess he was already starting to feel like a stuffed turkey then. Tee hee... :p

We were very satisfied at the end of the meal. Both of us full to the brim. Haha... This is the perfect place to dine at when u get really hungry and fancy an unlimited flow of food. But only on a Wednesday of course *grin*

Asia Cafe @ Subang Jaya SS15

Entry: 34
2nd January 2007

Dear Diary,

Darling and I had dinner at Asia Cafe on the 20th of December. Asia Cafe needs no further introduction as it is famous and popularly known especially among college students in the SS15 area of Subang Jaya. It didnt take long for darling to decide what he wanted to eat. But as for me, sigh, it's normally an ordeal having to chose between a variety of choices. Bear with me people, I get really mixed up when I'm surrounded by glorious food :p

Darling ordered a large plate of Char Kuey Teow priced at RM4.00 from the Penang Fried Kuey Teow stall. Judging from the previous number of times darling has ordered this, I guess it can be considered good but then it might still not be the best around :p

I was craving something spicy that night. Hence, I decided to order Spicy Pork Noodles from the Pork Noodle stall which is priced at RM4.50 for a large bowl. Darling actually ordered a small bowl for me, but I have no idea why they brought me a large one. The level of spiciness was a tad disappointing for me as I anticipated something spicier than what I was served. However, I am happy with the amount of minced pork they put in it. Fairly good.

We'll be back at Asia Cafe for more foodies very soon :)

Cheers,

What Darling Had For Lunch

Entry: 33
2nd January 2007

Dear Diary,

Gosh, I havent touched my blog since last year :p We've now entered into the new year of 2007 and I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year 2007. Yeapz, I've been busy alright, but yet I did remember to record all my makan happenings to share. Tee hee... :)

Went to Jusco in the afternoon around 2 weeks ago with darling to meet up his mum to buy stuff for making my japanese jellies for our church's Xmas dinner. Darling went for a hair cut before that and was practically starving when we reached Jusco. It took him awhile to decide what to eat. So what did he eat? It was a hard choice by the look on darling's face. Haha!!

When u'r out of options, McD's is always the best choice to fall back on. Check out the BIG MAC darling had...

I cant never eat this in one bite :( A real challenge for me...

I forgot the name for this burger, but darling said its something with beef and egg in it.

Look at the perfect bun. Super smooth... I think darling liked this burger a lot. He looked pretty satisfied with no complaints.

Cheers,

BBQ Plaza @ Sunway Pyramid (Revisited)

Entry: 32
13th December 2006

Dear Diary,

Both darling and I have been craving for BBQ Plaza for a whole week! I miss the bacon there so much and I bet darling misses his favourite beef. Oh, and not to mention their special sauce too :) Since we had discount vouchers expiring at the end of this month, we decided to go there for our dinner last Monday night. It was already our 5th visit to this restaurant. The last visit was just the previous Friday night when we rushed all the way back from work and through the weekend jam just to eat here. It's so good that we keep coming back for more! We had the Supreme Mixed Set (recommended for 2 person) on Friday night. I didn't manage to take any pictures because darling's phone ran out of battery. This time, we decided to be super adventurous to attempt finishing the Family Mixed Set (recommended for 4 person)!! May not be much of a challenge for darling, but it is for me.

Let the challenge begin...

For drinks, I had Hot Green Tea (RM2.00) and darling had Cold Chinese Tea (RM2.00).

BBQ Plaza's special sauce imported weekly all the way from Thailand. It is recommended that you squeeze in the lime, garlic and chillis into the sauce to enchance the taste. This sauce is so good that I can finish 3 and a half bowls of it!! No kidding. Very very appetizing!

The first plate of food for our Mixed Family Set (RM40.00). This plate contains sliced raw beef, pork, bacon, cabbage, baby corns, tomatoes, lettuce and udon noodles. You can also opt for the Beef Family Set (RM39.00) or the Pork Family Set (RM39.00).

Our second plate of food contains sliced chicken meat, fish, prawns, squids, vegie, and some kind of noodles which I have yet to find the name for it.

This family set comes with 3 bowls of rice. Darling had 2 bowls and I only managed to finish half my bowl of rice due to the enormous servings of meat.

The hotplate for cooking our food. Soup made with stock is firstly poured into the side of the hotplate which is used for cooking the vegie and noodles.

The pork lard is then placed onto the top of the hotplate once it is heated up. Can you see the soup boiling? Time to cook our vegie. Keke...

Yummy... Absolutely good stuff cooking there. We were both full to the max at the end of the meal. We finished everything except for my rice and our second plate of vegie. We were defeated by the huge serving of vegie. Haha!!

It's totally worth spending every cent here. We're both fully satisfied everytime we eat here. BBQ Plaza at Sunway Pyramid definately has the best food and service around. Their waiters and waitresess are always there to refill your drinks and sauce promtly. And they are all friendly and very polite too :) I think it is also gaining its popularity rather quickly among Malaysians as it is always packed recently when we dine here.
Thumbs up to BBQ Plaza :)

Cheers,
